Robert Owens (Full Live Band)

Saturday 4 October

Few voices in dance music carry the weight, warmth, and legacy of Robert Owens. This October, the legendary vocalist and pioneer of Chicago house music marks an extraordinary 40 years in the game, bringing his unmistakable voice to the live stage—this time backed by a full live band, breathing new life into the genre-defining tracks that helped shape house music as we know it.

A true originator, Owens famously declared that he was making house music “before house had a name”—and it’s no exaggeration. From his formative work in late-80s Chicago, he quickly established himself as one of the most distinctive and soulful vocalists in electronic music, lending his voice to records that would go on to become eternal club anthems.

Among his countless contributions to the genre, Owens is best known for the seminal “Tears” (alongside Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie), the raw, message-driven “Bring Down The Walls” with Larry Heard as part of Fingers Inc., and the soaring solo hits “I’ll Be Your Friend” and “Mine To Give”, the latter reaching the top of the Billboard Dance Chart.

Now, in this rare and intimate live performance, Owens revisits his extraordinary catalogue with a full band—giving fans a new, immersive way to experience tracks that have become sacred to house music lovers across generations.

The night will also feature a DJ set from London’s deeply respected Makin’ Moves, known for their soulful, forward-thinking take on deep house and dance floor rhythms.
